This is Jane Barry and she is my grandmother. She lives alone in a normal house, in a normal estate no different from the ones you pass every day but inside her life is not as it was.
Three years ago my grandfather died and it changed her life completely, no longer did she have the normality and purpose in her life that she had for fifty years previous. She changed from being an out going, confident and active person to a frail, dependant and hidden person.

Most of her days are spent inside looking out at the world, waiting, as it passes her by. Seemingly no longer a part of it, as if her life had been frozen in place.

This work is me trying to show how the death of a loved one can have such a powerful and life changing effect on the loved ones they left behind.
