I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio in 1962. After receiving my Bachelor's degree, I taught two years of elementary school in Delaware, Ohio at Carlisle School. After getting married in 1964, I moved to Illinois and taught 30 years. I was at Union School, School District 81 (one year) and in the Joliet Public School System, School District 86 (29 years). I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois in 1976 with 30 hours beyond that. I taught several graduate level education extension courses in the evenings for National College of Education between 1977 and 1987 now known as National-Louis University.
