Over het boek
The book is a collection of 1 year of photography. As a professional photographer, it became very easy to look at photography as "a job".
A co-worker started a 365 project, 1 picture a day for 1 year. 19 started, 6 finished.
Since every day didn't produce a "winner", I decided to produce a book of my favorites (all 400+) images from the year.
Lots of interesting places and interesting people (at least to me) that I found all around me.
The project turned into a real labor of love, and I wanted to produce a book that had the same feeling, had the same love and respect that I have for the images inside.
A year of photography produces A LOT of different opportunities and ideas. I wanted to try different things. Some worked well, some not so well. But all the images for the group are represented in my book, as well as an additional 90+ from the same time period.
I tried to organize the book by section or niche, while retaining a "flow" to the images. I wanted to make this a book that I would be proud of as the years go by.

Professional photographer for 26 years (and counting). Shooting in a studio environment, very controlled. Re-found the joy of shooting "for the fun of it." Was cajoled into a "365" project by a co-worker, and found it was the beest thing that ever happened to me (at least professionally.) The book "Eye of the Beholder" is not so much a document of the 365 project as it is a chronicle of the year I spent doing it.
