Over het boek
"Franken-Fatale" tells the story of an alternate reality where Dr. Frankenstein's reanimation of corpses was possible. The modern world, not so different from the one we know, glamorizes reanimation and the pursuit of body perfection and immortality. Reanimation is now a basic human right, but the issue is highly politicized. The richest can reanimate themselves in style, while the poorest fight for access to reanimation chambers. People cheat death for centuries. Some historic figures live on. People buy, sell, and trade body parts to achieve physical perfection or uniqueness. Some use reanimation to preserve their loved ones, while others engage in twisted experiments. But in this reanimated world, few truly living humans remain. Subject to persecution and civil war, these "warm bloods" must fight to survive and find their place in a world that now belongs to the undead. How much is a human life worth? Is reanimation the best thing to happen to humanity, or is it the worst? What will we risk for those we love? What will we risk for what we believe in?
A lot to take in, right? This story, however, is told through the eyes of just one reanimated person: Rita Venus, a self-absorbed, undead 80's pop star with a penchant for booze and violence. The poster child for glamour reanimation, Venus must come to terms with a dying career and her place in this whole f*cked up world. But can she do it without royally screwing everything up? And sober, for that matter?

H.J. Bennett is an author from sunny California. However, Bennett is primarily known for her work as an artist, specializing in mixed media portraiture on canvas. Bennett has been selling custom paintings for over 10 years and has been writing since childhood. Bennett keeps busy with numerous projects that provide commentary on the society we live in. Bennett was very affected by the sudden death of her father when she was 17 years old and bed-ridden from spinal fusion surgery. Grieving and bed-ridden, Bennett began writing the play titled, "Blood and Baguettes" that dealt with grief, death, and how to move on. This play set the groundwork for Bennett as she went on to write "Franken-Fatale", "Trouble in Undead Detroit", and "Planet Rot". Throughout these works she would continue to address the topic of death as a means of processing her own loss and place in society.
