In 1984, while living in York, Maine, I started working as a basketmaker weaving traditional baskets. Over time, my work evolved into more decorative objects as I continually pushed the boundaries of my art to make more sculptural pieces while still using basketry techniques. I haven't made a basket since my cancer diagnosis in 2014, but that's not a surprise. I was ready to move on to something new. Now, faced with uncertainty, priorities have changed and I'm still exploring what direction to pursue artistically.
