Bestselling, Puerto Rican Lesbian, author Joie Lamar published her first novel — volume 1 of a 2-part memoir called MAMBO LIPS — in 2016. Since then, she has published volume 2, Salsa Hips, and a poetry book titled Sapphoetry. Joie was the vision behind this book, Cuarenta y Nueve, and was responsible for organizing as well as contributing to this coffee table book dedicated to the Orlando Pulse massacre victims. Her first fiction novel, G, is due for release in 2018 right behind it.
MAMBO LIPS, part of her successful Lips and Hips memoir series, is now part of the curriculum and library portfolio of two LGBTQ+ schools in the USA, Harvey Milk High School, in New York, and Pride School, in Atlanta. Joie makes her home in Canada with her wife, two fur babies, and a growing number of world changing projects, including a feature film titled Las Alas, based on her memoirs.
