Markus grew up in former Eastern Germany. He was introduced to visual arts and illustrations at an early age. He started making pencil and watercolour drawings, developed an appreciation for light and composition, and used imagery as a way to express himself.

With the arrival of his first camera he adapted his creative skills to the art of photography. What started as a childhood hobby has turned into a lasting and ongoing dialogue between the artist behind the lens and the world around him.

After college Markus moved to Ireland. Inspired by the beauty of the west coast he set up his permanent home in Kinvara. Markus has turned his passion into a full-time career and now works as a Portrait & Wedding Photographer in Ireland and abroad.
