Roeland van Reem

The Netherlands
Over

Roeland van Reem mainly paints landscapes in oil on canvas or panel. His current oeuvre includes snow landscapes, beach and seascapes, polder landscapes and still lifes.
His work is a romantic representation of the landscape. His winter paintings are characterized by a subtle use of color and more or less abstracted landscape elements.
For him, the painting process is an exciting search; abstracting and playing with the subject and the aim, part of the tension that this entails is visible in the end result.
Since 2011 he has also been painting en plein air, but most paintings are created or completed in his studio in Maasland in the Netherlands.
As a self-taught artist, he attended various workshops with Roos Schuring and Gerard van de Weerd to further develop his landscapes.
Van Reem is a member of the Stg. Maassluise Artists and regularly exhibits in The Netherlands.
