Deepa Kataria was born 1975 in Mumbai, India and was raised in New York City, United States. She found her passion for the arts in India’s Junior high school. This made a pathway to continue her arts in high school in Queens, New York.

Deepa’s passion and love for the arts was nurtured further when she was accepted at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick. She won a couple of juried cash awards for her artwork at Mason Gross School of Arts.

With the successful completion of her graduation in Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2007, she was determined to bring her artistic skills to a professional level. She decided to attend the San Francisco Academy of Art University in order to earn a MFA degree. Deepa has two years of classical training with emphasis on abstraction in Masters of Fine Arts.

Her paintings have been featured in several group and solo shows in Bay Area. She lives in San Francisco. She has a painting studio in Berkeley, where she spends her weekends to
