Lizz Howe is a full time artist, author, and mother in scenic Trempealeau, Wisconsin. Originally from Milwaukee where she studied under Pamela Mierow and at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, she moved to La Crosse in 2011 and fell in love with the local scenery. When her first son was born, she was reimmersed in the world of children's books and soon thought of the idea that would drive her to become an Illustrator and Author. Handy Howie, her first book, earned a starred review from Kirkus Reviews. Kirkus Reviews Magazine also named Handie Howie as an "Indie Book of the Month" in May 2019.

Lizz draws her artistic inspiration from the stunning Trempealeau bluffs, surrounding farms, and the Mississippi River. Her literary influences include a variety of modern and classic voices such as Dr Seuss, Alice Schertle, Dav Pilkey, Johnathan London, and Sherri Dusky Rinker. Lizz is passionate about maintaining her areas natural beauty, and loves being outdoors with her family.
