Over de maker
Lacresha Reid is an aged out foster youth who has successfully overcame the obstacles of the foster care system. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work with the support of the Education Training Voucher (ETV) Program. Lacresha was able to be a part of the Aim Higher group in 2014 to develop a curriculum for foster youth, social workers, and foster parents providing knowledge about higher education resources as foster youth age out of care. Later in 2014, she was privileged to be a part of the Child Welfare League of America: “Financial Challenges Facing Youth in Transition”, panel discussion. In addition, Lacresha served as an Academic Success Coach for the Foster Care to Success Program in 2015 to guide aging out foster youth through their journey of obtaining higher education. Currently, Lacresha serves over 75 clients in her mental health private practice in Baltimore City, Maryland providing individual and family therapy.
