Over het boek
There are many different ways to make cornhusk dolls and most that you see in the stores are very crude and unfinished. The Ritchie Cornhusk Dolls are unique in that they are crafted in remarkable detail.
The Ritchie family of Viper, Kentucky was one of the first to settle Kentucky in the days of Daniel Boone, and the family is well-known for preserving Kentucky mountain traditions, in particular, folk singing and cornhusk dollmaking. Ritchie Cornhusk Dolls have been hand-crafted by five generations of Ritchies and have been recognized for their adherence to tradition.
This book is a celebration of our family’s history of cornhusk dollmaking and is dedicated to all the family members who have kept this tradition alive.
