Over het boek
Since about 2009, artist and art educator Steve Loya began experimenting with making something he called Splotch Monsters - imaginary creatures made from randomly painted watercolor splotches, as a creative exercise. Ever since, he has continued to work on these critters, expanding his approach and taking them in directions he never dreamed of, originally. Many of the paint splotches, dubbed Splotch Forms, were documented before being turned into Splotch Monsters. This book collects some of those paint splotches and the resulting monsters, and is a glimpse into the artist's creative process.
