Cara Brewer succeeds in capturing relationship with nature and landscapes that surround her. In particular, her subject matter found in the Great Plains leaves one feeling there is land and space not yet explored. Her closeness to these landscapes is evident in her photography, and not surprising as she was born and raised in South Dakota. One of her favorite quotes is: “Anyone can love the mountains, it takes a soul to love the prairie.” - Willa Cather. Cara has a reverence for nature and the outdoors. Her awe inspires her to always tread lightly and to give thanks to Mother Earth whenever she is given opportunity to seize upon an unforgettable moment between herself and the miracles of nature. Cara is a poet as well, writing verse accompaniments for many of her photographic pieces.
