A compilation of seven short stories, each narrated by various characters. With varying moments of overlap, these stories navigate individual experiences of selfhood and interconnection. McGowan explores a range of themes, including substance abuse, physical and emotional harm, fatherhood, male and female dynamics, relationships with loneliness, as well as loss and grief.

James McGowan is a Pennsylvania-born creative writer and poet. After earning his Bachelor’s degree at Pennsylvania State University and his Master’s in English at the University of Arkansas, he taught English, literature, philosophy, and creative and technical writing. He has published work in various literary journals and magazines, including the North American Review, The Spoon River Poetry Review, TAMAQUA, The Ledge, Alligator Juniper, and The White House Coffee Press.
