Over het boek
The set concludes with this Volume IV, a stand-alone photo-book dedicated to the author's favorite areas across Texas' vast and varied regional landscapes. It begins with a discussion of the regional physiography of Texas, and then presents Photo-Essays from the author’s favorite locations of each region:
o The wildflowers of Central Texas and Hill Country area,
o Coastal Texas, from Port Arthur to Brownsville,
o Caddo Lake in the Piney Woods,
o The North Texas Plains and Panhandle, with its windswept fields and high plains storms, and
o The rugged desert and mountainous areas in West Texas Trans-Pecos area and the incomparable Big Bend area.
Throughout all of the above areas, I include many of the amazing State Parks they contain, in addition to the National Parks and other protected lands. Birds, alligators and other wildlife are also featured.
The beauty here often speaks for itself, so this Volume IV is a more text-light photobook, as compared to Volumes I-III..

Over de maker
Photography has been a personal passion of mine for about as long as I can remember. My first rewarding experience in this was a simple shot: As a 12 year old in Wisconsin, our back yard lay under 3 feet of snow, and I had been tasked to shovel pathways for our family dog to run through. With a Brownie camera, I laid down in the open tunnel, called for him, and snapped him as he turned the corner to me. The simple composition, contrast, and spontaneous reaction sparked something in me and remains with me to this day. Over the years, I kept at it, and after raising a family and retiring from my other career, I have been able to take my photography to a high level, winning awards and recognition in highly competitive photo contests. Today, I am a highly accomplished photographer whose work is mainly oriented around landscape photography, both traditional and interpretive. I also include images capturing birds and wildlife and abstract geometry of nature and architectural details.
