Egypt comes alive within the pages of this book, with no less than 370 original full colour and high-resolution images of sites and artefacts. Many are reproduced at a large size, to capture the grandeur of, say, the Pyramids, or the pillars at Karnak. These photos follow the course of a recent tour and are accompanied by commentary. There is also a large number of photos from a 1986 visit, allowing for comparison of sites and artefacts over the last forty years. While maximalist in content, the presentation of material is orderly and elucidatory. There are also special sections on Egyptian film, food, 'natural pyramids' and many other topics. Photo Journeys in Egypt -2026 and 1986 is the next best thing to visiting the country.
