Over het boek
The book is a richly illustrated study of the mapmakers and publishers who were instrumental in the the cartographic changes of the Eastern Mediterranean from the earliest printed Ptolemaic maps of the 15th century to the most modern maps of the 19th century with a summary of the technological advances and historical circumstances that influenced the development of printed maps. It brings together information from many sources and fills a gap on the list of books on cartography of the region. It is aimed at the novice map collector and all those interested in the cartography of this region.
