This photography book showcases our wonderful 10 day coach tour taken in 2025 when we visited several western USA National Parks and spectacular canyons such as Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon (the latter which were my favourites). Our Insight Vacations Travel Director’s first words to us on boarding the coach were: ”This tour is all about rocks!” How right she was!!

The 504 photographs in this book hopefully portrayed what my eyes captured through my camera lenses. The absolute vastness of the canyons and ultra wide landscapes; the exquisite light and shadows; the multitude of pastels and hues including either their vibrancy or subtlety; the contours, textures, tones and shapes of the rocks and landscapes and of course, the beautiful autumn colours. I also endeavoured to capture some indigenous areas and maybe the quirkiness of some of the small towns plus a few interesting town folks. Below is a quotation from Edward Abbey which sums up my impressions of this tour, aptly called by Insight Vacations: The Wonders of the American West. “May your rivers flow without end... down into a desert of red rock, blue mesas, domes and pinnacles and grottos of endless stone, and down again into a deep vast ancient unknown chasm where bars of sunlight blaze on profiled cliffs... where something strange and more beautiful and more full of wonder than your deepest dreams waits for you-beyond that next turning of the canyon walls”.

This book is for all to enjoy as much as I enjoyed making the images and reliving them here.
