On April 15, 1945, British Troops entered the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp near Hanover, Germany. They found thousands of sick and starving prisoners surrounded by piles of corpses.

This infamous site revealed...

10,000 unburied dead scattered throughout the camp, 13,000 died after liberation by the British.

All of them victims of the Nazi German warfare for the "new order" in Europe.

Overall, Bergen-Belsen claimed the lives of about 50,000 prisoners of the concentration camp, and over 20,000 prisoners of war.

In April - May 1945 to curb the risk of disease, the huts of the camp are destroyed.

Bergen-Belsen now is a memorial park with a permanent exhibition.
