Sir, Don Mc’ Cullin, well known for his inspiring work as a war photographer once said, “Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.”

And that is the crux of the matter, searching for that ideal image, that special, unexpected moment when one photograph, of many, satisfies a need, a desire to capture something special, the very best.
To create a mood, an impression, a degree of sensitivity or level of understanding is the holy grail of photography, inviting onlookers into a world of magic, escapism and story-telling.
All this in a photograph? Yes! A photograph can say more in one image than a story can in many words.

Photography can offer escapism, a momentary relief from the hurley-burley and responsibilities of modern life, it offers the opportunity to encounter and capture, in a moment, a split second, a moment in time.

Walking along the North Norfolk coast, one is in awe of its big skies, magical landscapes and hidden creeks and inlets which nature has fashioned throughout millennia.
The silence, scents and sounds of a salt marsh, to the hustle and bustle of a busy fishing harbour with crabs and lobster being landed on the quayside, later, watching participants indulging in water sports in and around a yachting marina.
So many opportunities for that special shot, that winning moment, if one is ready things can come together almost as if it were planned.
