Patricia Lay-Dorsey brings years as a social worker and visual artist to her photography. She is all about seeing herself and others from an insider’s point of view. Patricia’s self portrait project, “Falling Into Place,” took third prize in the 2010 FotoVisura Grant for Outstanding Personal Photography Project. Her photo essays have been featured in Newsweek Japan, NY Times Lens Blog, Visura Magazine, Burn, LensWork, American-Journal, New Mobility Magazine, and Catherine Edelman's The Chicago Project. Patricia has had solo exhibits at Boston's Griffin Museum of Photography and Detroit's Ellen Kayrod Gallery. She was invited to show work at the Annenberg Space for Photography and the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography. Her POD books, Falling Into Place, Young Musicians, Just Another Married Couple, and The Space Between can be ordered in the Blurb bookstore. Patricia and her husband Ed have lived in the Detroit area since 1966. |
