Over het boek
A catalogue for a 2013 exhibition, the book explores how the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius have influenced the work of four contemporary Jesuit artists. They include Arturo Araujo, Thomas Lucas, Trung Pham and Josef Venker. Another Jesuit, James Hanvey, a British theologian, offers an introductory essay and further theological reflections on the work of each artist. The works employ a variety of media: printmaking, painting, found objects, glass and installations. The book showcases as well the venue: Manresa Gallery, located within St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco, California.
