Over het boek
Long Island Foreclosed features nearly 100 pages of homes threatened by default or foreclosure due to the financial crisis our country is in. Though it is specific to Long Island, it speaks to many other communities around the country that are also suffering. It is prefaced with a New York Times article and also features a map of Long Island showing it in it's entirety with each photograph location pinpointed, respectively.
The intention of this book is to raise awareness of the nation's current state of economic peril without statistics separating the audience from the true severity that is currently being experienced, even by those we may know. It has been said that this book gives a face to the numbers we are bombarded with on a daily basis by the news and media.
Note: All of the photographs have been modified in order to protect the identity of the homeowners.
