I DISCOVERED PAINTING ABOUT EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO WHEN I ATTENDED A WATERCOLOUR CLASS WITH SOME FRIENDS...

It led to a change of direction that I have never regretted. Today, painting is my passion. I find inspiration from within myself and my work is driven by my life’s experiences.
Such as flying. As a former pilot the immensity of the sky with its changing moods has fascinated me. The sense of vast open space with wonderful colours can be seen in some of my paintings. Also the feeling of quietness and calmness felt in a large building or in flat open space can be within my work – obviously this comes from my time spent in hangers and airfields!
Escaping from the stress of the office also features in my work. I ran a business for some years and learnt to value the time I could spend alone. The love of solitude is probably a theme in all my work.
The important thing to me about painting is to create genuine personal work without compromise. Each piece is a step on my painting journey.
