Chris Strang

Michigan
Over

Chris Strang was born in 1935 in Detroit and has lived in southeastern Michigan all his life. In 1952 he started taking photos with his older brother’s 2 ¼ folding camera. Afraid he was going to lose his camera to Chris, Jerry subsidized more than half of the $63 for the cost of a new Argus C3. Chris’ obsession with photography was then started, going from camera to darkroom, to collecting, to rebuilding, to electronics, to fine art painting, and on and on to astro-photography. Besides his formal degree in engineering, he has attended workshops; accelerated classes in darkroom; composition, lighting and many additional college courses in sculpturing and fine art painting, His equipment list is modest: his mounts are a Meade 8 in. LX200GPS and a Vixen SP 102mm. His cameras are; Canon modified Rebel, a Celestron NightScape 10100, Nikon D70, Meade LPI and a DSI for guiding. Lenses include the above and a Williams 66 mm and various long Nikon standard camera lenses.
