Dan Westergren is based in Washington DC, mainly because for years he was on staff with National Geographic Traveler as director of photography and photographer. Through his former work and now as a freelance photographer he’s been exposed to some of the best travel and nature photography from around the world. As a result Dan is obsessed with location searching, finding the best backgrounds for his images and photographing appropriate subjects there. He is really obsessed, enough to travel to the North Pole on skis under his own power.
