Julia Garbe grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada watching cartoons and doodling on any blank surface. When her parents encouraged her to go into illustration, she pursued engineering instead as an act of rebellion. In her free time, she draws comics, plays music and sculpts gnomes.
