My story-telling began, like most people's, from the stories I spun for myself. A natural extension was to tell them to my sister (15 mos younger). At her urging I began to write them out, and still more stories came to me. My greatest hope for them is that they be read and people get the kind of pleasure I have always gotten from reading others' stories.
