At 17 I became editor of several weekly newspapers in Northern California, graduated from UO in journalism, married, a reporter in Eastern Oregon, and then taught award-winning journalism students for more than 31 years. When I was 19 a great-aunt passed along our family history, researched and written by my great-grandfather John Edgar McElrath. My goal is to bring family history to life.
