Ransome’s collage work is an instinctive and intricate mosaic of patterns intertwining color, shape and texture. Like cornrows, it follows geometric and curvilinear design. Drawing from relics of the past, and a tradition of “making something out of nothing, Ransome uses a quilters technique/aesthetic in gathering remnants, salvaged scraps, and new materials to remix into visual creations twisting strands of the improvisational elements of blues, Jazz, RnB and hip hop music.
