Nic won his first art prize at age 13 and published his first photograph at age 17. He went on to study photography and journalism and worked as a journalist and press photographer. In 1986 he graduated as an Interior Designer and went onto work as a designer for an exhibition firm and later an advertising agency before starting his own company in 1991 to design and built exhibition stands and pavilions internationally for defence, aerospace and computer companies. From 2004 Nic returned to photography and art. Several group and solo exhibitions of his photographs and artwork followed. He designed a range of fabrics which launched in 2015 and in the same year he won an international silver medal for his creative source book: Art for Interior Designers. Several mainly photography and travel books followed and books produced for others on commission. In 2022 he published his first book of poems.
