Over het boek
This is a personal photographic exploration of the human form. Photographed over the course of 27 months, some odd 2,400 images were captured.
My goal was to portray people from all walks of life as they are naturally; to capture the beauty and commonality that binds us together as uniquely human. While I am solely a visual artist, this project is as much about personality and psychology as it is about creativity. I hope the following images invoke, stir or move the viewer
to reflect on the common bonds that join us together and also allow us each to be uniquely human.
All photographs are completely unretouched. They remain raw and momentary, much like our everyday lives.
Volunteers that were comfortable posing partially or fully nude were given the freedom to find themselves while within a professional photographic setting, then lit to represent each in an artful and respectful manner.

Douglas has been shooting as professional photographer for 26 years, offering a broad array of services for the Individual and Family, as well as the Corporate Meetings & Events, Commercial, Advertising, Manufacturing & Entertainment Industries. At an early age, Douglas began traveling and gained a wanderlust which has continued throughout his photo career, taking him all over the world to locations of great diversity. He has lived briefly in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Paris, France and New York City but always finds his path back home to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he currently resides. Douglas always prefers shooting people over things. Things can be useful, but not very expressive. People are the primary focus of his career.
