Over het boek
The artist collective PINKPROGRESSION rose out of the 2017 historic womxn and sister's marches. PINKPROGRESSION commemorates, celebrates, and builds on the solidarity established during these marches, addressing a variety of concepts, such as human rights, gender identity, and equality.
This catalog features PINKPROGRESSION: COLLABORATIONS at the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities, one of the top ten most-attended cultural organizations in Metro Denver. This exhibit incorporates a fusion of narratives through collaborative artwork. These multidimensional works emphasize the collective issues that confront us and the transformational ways of finding common ground. One hundred years ago, the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s right to vote, was ratified. This historic centennial offers us the opportunity to commemorate a milestone, recognize the consecutive dates in which all women attained the right to vote in America, and explore the complex struggle for universal suffrage today. Over 150 artists, writers, dancers, and musicians utilize the power of networks to inspire social change.
This catalog includes essays from author and professor of women and gender studies Lorraine Bayard De Volo and art + architecture writer Mary Voelz Chandler, and is designed by artist, designer, and professor Kelly Monico. This publication features over 100 pages of incredible artwork including our community button installation as well as our poetry book, "Refuse to Stay Silent."
