Over het boek
For years, each time I came home for a visit I'd ask my father to wake me up so I could photograph him caring for his patients. And for years he'd nudge me awake at 5 in the morning and receive the same response. "Next visit Dad," and I'd fall back to sleep.
Finally I flew in specifically to follow him to work with my cameras, and just eight weeks later he was diagnosed with cancer. He continued practicing medicine for nearly three years, almost to the very end, and I continued to photograph him.
