Introduction

The Book of Curve Medicines emerged from the course Liberate Your Curve, facilitated by Dr. Laura Batson, naturopathic doctor, artist, and poet. Liberate Your Curve is a 12 week course journeyed by beings from all walks of life who gathered in circle to explore the liberation of their self, souls, bodies, Earth and society from the lines and boxes of colonial conformity.

We explored the liberation of our Original Curves: those authentic expressions of self and gifts of our being that exist beyond the boxes of societal conformity and linear rules. We explored the liberation of feminine curves of intelligence, of fractal curves of body and nature, of Indigenous circular knowledge and the nonlinear ecological webs of Earth. We explored structures of society, from hierarchical systems of oppression to circular systems of liberation. At all levels of life, we asked: how do we liberate Curvature? Our answers came in the form of poetry, art, questions and dialogue with each other, with Spirit, with Nature and our Souls. We call these answers, medicines: curve medicines.

This book is a weaving of the medicines that came through two cohorts of the course (I call the cohorts "iterations #2 and #3").
