The story materialized after teaching first grade for a while, and each year I would introduce the standard ELAGSE1W1: Write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or the name of the book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure. In such a fun and unique way that I decided to bring my way of teaching to all learning styles to life in this story entitled Opal’s Opinion.
