Gabe Sheen has published a book titled The Nature of Photographic Images about the formative properties unique to photographic images. Following that book, he also wanted to write another one about the design principles that photography shares with other art media. Without wishing to cover all the numerous design principles, Sheen has chosen those closely related to the photographic nature and tried to explain them as simply as possible. He conceived this book as a small-sized glossary so that readers could easily carry it around and refer to it. Now, presenting the first edition under the title ‘The Principles of Photographic Design,’ Sheen looks forward to readers’ input to develop this little book and add more terms.
