Over de maker
Kathy Roseth is a Seattle-based artist. She was born in Iran of medical missionary parents and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Wausau, Wisconsin. Roseth received a bachelor’s degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and two master’s degrees (first English, then business) from the University of Washington in Seattle. Roseth began painting in high school and continued, on and off, into young adulthood, when she changed direction and for twenty years made quilts in the Amish tradition. In 2003 she returned to fine art and began taking classes at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. After retiring in 2013 she attended Gage full-time, including four years with the Kang-O’Higgins Atelier (graduating 2019) and one year with the Flack Core Drawing Atelier (2020). Roseth paints portraits, figures, still-life, and landscape paintings in the realist and Impressionist traditions of Western representational art.
