The 80s were a very creative era.
Sure there was a fierce competition between makers, but car designs were so varied and innovative, before falling into the increasing standardisation of the 90s. Nowadays most of RC cars share the same DNA and design guidelines so it’s sometimes difficult to tell them apart.
I loved the spirit of the eighties. Everything had yet to be invented, and in my book there were a lot of memorable cars, all released in a very short space of time.
