Over het boek
"Although we lifelong residents of Western North Carolina are often disparagingly referred to as 'hillbillies' and such by outsiders, these 'Yankees from Florida' would be surprised to find that they themselves are very much a part of our culture and folklore. For instance, ask any WNC native, and he or she can relate stories about out-of-state drivers so colorful as to make [the introductory page photo] pale by comparison. Ah, but so much for stereotypes. After all, tourist, transplant or native, we all love our mountain paradise, don't we? I guess that makes us all hillbillies in the end. . . "
