Over het boek
Landscapes of Digital Existences explores the intersection of physical and digital realities, offering a profound reflection on how technology reshapes our understanding of nature, identity, and authenticity. Drawing inspiration from mid-century aesthetics and the vibrant works of David Hockney, Emilie Duval's series juxtaposes clean lines and bold colors with digital distortions that mirror the complexities of the contemporary world.
Through layered textures, generative AI, and digital manipulations, Duval creates visual landscapes that oscillate between the nostalgic and the futuristic, inviting viewers to contemplate the blurred boundaries between the natural and the synthetic. Both unsettling and familiar, her works reveal the profound ways unseen technological forces continuously shape our modern existence.
This book serves as a philosophical and visual journey, urging readers to question what lies beneath the surface of the worlds we create and inhabit in this digital age.

I am a French/American multi-disciplinary visual artist. My work is defined by research and observation to acknowledge the functionality of our societies. Fueled by my studies in Law and Art history, I focus my interest on a wide range of contemporary matters. I translate them into a metaphoric vision to extract the very sense of our societies' structural balance. I aim to lead people to a new observation of their surroundings by triggering a questioning reflection. My work is to transform the words into a pictorial representation of societal's future tremors by developing intellectual and visual connections with people.
