Over het boek
Jacalyn Olson is an International Studies major at the University of North Texas. During 2025, she studied abroad at Sichuan Normal University(四川师范大学) through the USAC program, embarking on a year-long journey of discovery.
From the vibrant streets of Chengdu to the landscapes of Baotou, Garzê, and Yibin, this collection brings together photography, drawings, paintings, and poetry. It is a record of adventures fueled by a "love and learn" philosophy and the lifelong friendships formed with people from across the globe.
"Going abroad, I found that I am the same me, I have the same thoughts and I am the same person," Jacalyn reflects. "It may seem like I am different now, but the truth is I am simply getting stronger." This book captures that growth, offering a glimpse into a curious, impressionable mind navigating the world and finding strength in the familiar. I hope you find something beautiful or special within these pages.
