20 Roses is a collection of evocative and direct black-and-white photographic portraits, paired with individual visual "captions."



The images were made in 1977, and portray students and staff of Woodlawn, an alternative public high school in Arlington, VA.



The high-quality portraits were made with a Crown Graphic 4"x5" camera.
