During the early years of the 18th Century, Thomas Mewboorn (1668-1749), son of Moses Mewboorn (born c.1630), and his wife Eleanor Goreman Mewboorn (1662-bef. 1800) moved from England to Bertie County, North Carolina, in the New World. They began the American family of Mewborns.
