Over het boek
The Luangwa Valley in Zambia is one of the last virtually unspoilt regions in Africa. In the heart of the valley lies the famous South Luangwa National Park, home of big herds of elephants and buffalo, the endemic Thornicroft giraffe, lions, leopards, Wild dogs, many species of antelope and hundreds of species of birds. The Luangwa Valley has two very different faces. In the rainy ‘Emerald’ season the mighty Luangwa river floods large parts of the valley, bringing new life to the thirsty land. The valley is lush and green and stunningly beautiful. In the dry season from June till November, the valley becomes arid and dry, and life becomes difficult for the residents. This is the story of the two faces of South Luangwa national park.
