These fifteen photographs form my successful panel for an Associateship distinction with the Royal Photographic Society, in the the Visual Art category.

My other passion aside from photography is Urban Exploration (also known as UrbEx), which involves the seeking out and exploring of abandoned buildings all over the world, and this interest goes some way towards explaining the subject matter that I have chosen here. I have seen inside a number of asylums, houses, powerplants and factories, but my enduring favourites are the former two, as they generally contain more human traces than the larger scale buildings, and it is this aspect of 'other lives lived' that I love to capture in my work.

Most of the images for my Associateship panel were shot in an abandoned manor house hidden deep in the Sussex countryside, which contained many objects and possessions belonging to the former owners, just left behind along with the house to rot, and that is where the title for this panel originated. My Statement of Intent over the page describes what I was aiming to achieve when I selected these fifteen images for consideration by the panel of assessors.
