Over het boek
As a fine-art photographer, there’s never a moment that I’m not working. That is, scanning my surroundings and mentally framing shots of what intrigues me. However, I seldomly carry my SLR.
Fortunately, I have this amazing little device within reach at practically all times. So as it turns out, a great deal of my photography is now done this way.
While its capabilities are much more limited, I enjoy the challenges of making beautiful imagery out of anything/everything that I see — even knowing that it will never make it onto a large gallery-wrapped canvas.
Still, it is wonderful to be able to continuously practice and now to share this work for the first time in print. These 300 photographs were chosen from the 5,000+ that I’ve taken between April 2008 and August 2011 with the iPhones 3 and 4.
Also to note, with all the fun/convenient photography apps available for the iPhone, they play no part in any of the work in this book. In fact, no editing of any sort has been done on these shots. They’re all straight from the phone.
To see more of these “Practice” shots, go to www.facebook.com/daviDAKnudsen and look for my iPhone Art albums under the Photos tab. They’re updated periodically.
Additionally, my “real” work (shot with SLR), can be seen at www.dakshots.com.
