Over de maker
I was born the eighth of thirteen children to Joseph Bernard Luebker and Mildred Zimmerman Luebker. My siblings and I were raised with a Catholic background in a rural setting near Stuttgart, Arkansas. As a young girl, I entered St. Scholastica’s Convent in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This was my first introduction to fine art and the great works of the Renaissance that so inspired me. Serving God and studying art were two of the greatest expectations of my life. From the early stages of my life, spirituality and art seemed to intertwine. This is evident in my present artwork, which presents a subtle spiritual element. I worked as a hairstylist for thirty-five years and took art lessons at the local community center whenever possible. In my mid-fifties, I continued my art education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art in December of 2003 and my Masters of Art degree in Studio Art in May of 2006.
