Over het boek
After finishing my teaching contract in Japan, I spent most of the month of August 2008 cruising through tiny beach towns in southeastern Australia, with a dash across to New Zealand for a weekend.
When I tell them about my decision to travel by couchsurfing, most people respond with an amusing combination of skepticism and terror. But I think it's the only way to go. Anywhere in the world you want to visit, there's most likely a generous soul living there who belongs to the worldwide network/family of couchsurfers. These people want to share the beauties of their hometown with anyone who's interested, and offer their simple hospitality to make the world a nicer place. I have almost only good things to say about the venture.
